Recent Shadow Visits

October 27, 2015:
Afternoon Visit

On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, 26 students from 16 different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit to experience firsthand what it is like to be a St. Lucy’s Regent. The girls were hosted by 8 Regent Ambassadors and made many new friendships.

 

October 7, 2015:
First Rally of the 2015-2016 School Year!

On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, 77 students from 20 different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit to experience firsthand what it is like to be a St. Lucy’s Regent. The girls were hosted by 16 senior Regent Ambassadors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, attended a school rally and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met members of the Administration and faculty. Many new friendships were made and we hope to see these students on campus as Regents next year!

 

January 13, 2015:
Last Shadow Visit Held on a Rally Day!

On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, sixty-nine 8th grade girls from thirty-four different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit. The 8th graders were hosted by eighteen juniors and seniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, participated in a school rally, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment. Incoming freshman applications were due on January 14.

 

December 5, 2014:
Fourth Shadow Visit

On Friday, December 5, fifty-one students from twenty-five different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Morning Shadow Visit. The 8th graders were hosted by fifteen seniors and juniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. We also celebrated the Feast of St. Nicolas. The girls were told to leave one shoe in the hallway during introductions and good ole St. Nic left candy canes in their shoes.

 

High School Experience Day!

On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, 64 students from 22 different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit to experience firsthand what it is like to be a St. Lucy’s Regent. The girls were hosted by 5 seniors, 8 juniors, and 1 sophomore. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, attended a special assembly, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment. We hope to see these girls again at the Middle School Pre-Game BBQ hosted by the tri-school community.

 

First 8th Grade Shadow Visit of the 2014-2015 School Year is a Success!

On Friday, September 19, 2014, 27 eighth grade girls from 11 different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit to experience firsthand what it is like to be a St. Lucy’s Regent. The eighth graders were hosted by 5 seniors (Ilianna Almada, Halli Barrios, Emily Gutierrez, Ashley Jaworoski, Lesley Villalva) and 3 juniors (Jessica Haddad, Antoinette Mendoza, Delaney Sissung). They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, attended the first school mass of the year, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment. At the conclusion of the visit, one student from Holy Angels School in Arcadia told her mother, “Let’s send in my application now. I’m going to St. Lucy’s!” We look forward to the remaining four Shadow Visits!

 

January 15, 2014:
Last Shadow Visit Held on a Rally Day!

On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, twenty-eight 8th grade girls from twenty different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit. The 8th graders were hosted by three seniors and seven juniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, participated in a school rally, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment. Incoming freshman applications were due on January 15 as well.

 

December 6, 2013:
Fourth Shadow Visit

On Friday, December 6 sixty-one students from thirty-six different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Morning Shadow Visit. The 8th graders were hosted by seven seniors and eight juniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. We also celebrated the Feast of St. Nicolas. The girls were told to leave one shoe in the hallway during introductions and good ole St. Nic left candy canes in their shoes.

The 8th graders were hosted by five seniors and five juniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment.

 

October 17, 2013:
Second Shadow Visit

On Thursday, October 17, 2013, forty-six 8th grade girls from twenty-two different private and public junior highs attended an afternoon St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit. The 8th graders were hosted by six seniors and four juniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment.

 

October 2, 2013:
Shadow Visit Held on a Rally Day!

On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, eighty-eight 8th grade girls from twenty-one different private and public junior highs attended a St. Lucy’s Shadow Visit. The 8th graders were hosted by eight seniors and nine juniors. They received a tour of the campus, met teachers and students, participated in a school rally, and enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch. The visit concluded in the Regent Resource Center with a Parent Q & A Session where families met the Administration, Dean of Curriculum, Athletic Director, and the Director of Public Relations and Enrollment. This was the largest Shadow Visit to date! One eighth grader shared, “I had an amazing time. It was the best day so far in 8th grade!”
