Parents are vital to the success of the school. All parents and guardians of St. Lucy's students are automatically members of the Parent Club and are invited to become active participants. The Parent Club assists in providing social, spiritual, educational, moral and financial support to St. Lucy's Priory High School.

Meetings

All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend Parent Club meetings. The meeting schedules are published in the monthly calendar and are usually held on the first Tuesday of the month. Parents attending Parents Club meetings receive one hour of credit toward their annual volunteer service hours and are automatically entered into a drawing for a $300 credit toward tuition.

Parent Participation Program

The cost of an education at St. Lucy's Priory High School far exceeds tuition and grows more expensive each year. The Parent Participation Program was established to close this gap. The program promotes a sense of community among the parents as they work together in support of their daughters and their education.

Mandatory Requirements

Each family is required to complete 20 hours of service per school year (10 for single parent households). Participation in St. Lucy's major fundraisers-Boutique and BASH-is also required.

Service Hours

One service hour is equivalent to $20, with a yearly total of $400 per family ($200 for single parent households). If parents are unable to volunteer, they have the option to donate money in lieu of their time. Service hours are important because they support the greater needs of the school community and help limit the need for paid assistance. Parent Participation Forms must be filled out and submitted each year as part of the registration process.

Volunteer Opportunities

Service hours can be accrued tin a variety of ways including: Registration Day, dance chaperones, Boutique, Golf Tournament, Ecology Days, event parking, Advancement Office clerical assistance, athletic events, telephoning, BASH, Musical, Drama events and Graduation. Miscellaneous donations of goods or services are welcome and can be applied to service hours credit. Parents are responsible for signing in and out each time they volunteer.

Unfulfilled Obligations

Parents who do not complete the required volunteer hours (senior parents by Saturday, April 23 and others by Saturday, May 7) will be billed by the Business Office at the rate of $20 per hour missed.

Parents will be assessed a $15 late fee for failing to make the mandatory obligations to Boutique and BASH by the deadline. Fees will be added to the financial obligations that are required to be cleared for exams and grades.
